GEDELMA CASTLE

GEDELMA CASTLE 12 km. west, in Güneşli-Gedelme settlement, it has survived as a well-preserved Byzantine medieval fortress. The castle was built by Jacobek M.S. It is dated to the 9th century. Its name means "Grain Phrygmos, grain drying, grain preservation, grain pit". This place is a storage-fortress not only for Gedelme but also for the region. The cave located near the castle is one of the interesting places of the region, besides, it is estimated that the plane tree, which fascinates those who see it with its gigantic appearance, is estimated to be 2500 years old.

How to Get to Gedelme Castle?

You can reach Gedelia after a 1-hour drive from Kemer city center. Entrance to the ruins is free.
